Early Intervention ABA Therapy

Momentum Behavioral Services provides behavioral and educational support services based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This is a research-based approach, which uses well-established principles of learning to improve behavior. Over 30 years of extensive scientific research has demonstrated that Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most effective approach for treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) as well as other behavioral and developmental disorders. There is also a strong body of evidence showing that early intervention is key to helping improve behavior.

 Early Intervention Program

Because evidence has shown that early intervention is key in helping improve challenging behavior, at MBS we focus on very young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). The early intervention program helps families, schools, organizations and professionals that are impacted by autism. MBS provides compassionate, care to children with autism and other developmental disabilities with a particular focus on early intervention for children between infancy and age five.

How It Works

MBS early intervention programs use the methods of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help your child learn age and developmentally appropriate language and learning skills. Instruction is individualized in one-on-one sessions provided in homes, community and educational settings.

ABA Therapy

ABA is a method of teaching children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. ABA requires a different number of hours per week of one-to-one teaching depending on each child. Each skill is broken down into its component parts and taught in a structured teaching environment. Appropriate behavior is rewarded, and inappropriate behavior is redirected. ABA therapy can assist in learning new skills or decreasing concerning behaviors. Therapy can be provided in a wide variety of settings. Each therapy session includes data collection and review to drive progress.

Social Skills

Social skills for children with Autism must often be taught directly. This is because children with autism do not easily acquire those skills naturally from their environment. Teaching social skills directly can take many forms.  Social skills sessions can use a variety of themes and activities in order to teach your child how to navigate the complicated playground that is social skills.

Parent Training

Parent training is an important component of any successful treatment program for a child with autism, and can be instrumental in your child’s success. Although your child may receive quality ABA treatment services daily or weekly, it is essential that you receive support on implementing your child’s programming since most of his or her time is spent outside of therapy. Parent training has many benefits and can be done in many different ways.
